Humanitarian Disaster Preparedness: Media and Technology

How have mobile technologies changed the way we respond to natural disasters?
What role did mobile technologies play in Haiti’s post-earthquake response?



This panel will look at the role of media and technology in humanitarian disaster preparedness, focusing specifically on the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Panelists will discuss how information sharing between large aid organizations, grassroots groups and local authorities strengthens the ability of relief workers to respond to natural disasters.
